ODE AN DIE FREUDE!

A group of minstrals is just now in front of my studiowindow!
They are playing Beethovens 9th sinfony Ode an die Freude!

Such a masterpiece!
A few days before I came to South Africa I saw a replica of Klimt's mural dedicated to Ode an die Freude at the Beyeler Museum in Basel. I sketched some parts out of it. It was a really good show about Vienna in the 1920ies. So lotz of Klimt and Schiele amongst others.

THE LION AND THE PEACOCK

wise / wild and vain / superficial

finally I got to take a foto of my mural at
Commercial Street x Buitenkant in Cape Town
It was the day of the president holding a speach to the public at parliament so there was crazy alot of traffic. we stood for so long that I took the chance and got aut of the car to get some shots. I even like it that it was one of those rare cloudy days.... it's nice to see the wall without hard shadows for once.

big thankyou to Ricky for making it happen, /A WORD OF ART, pro Helvetia and the cherrypicker from african access

THE STREET CORNER

The last few days I was painting a mural at Commercial St. and Buitenkant.
Thanks for all the thumbs up or down and the drinks, the energy-one from the bookshop guy and the sherry out of plastic-bottle from the guy who «owns» the streetcorner. he got mad at me at first for making his place look nicer, because then it's harder to get money, then he complained that I've painted a lion and not a tiger and in the end he told me that he actualy was born a lion but now he's a tiger and that he loves what I did. A lot of people asked if it was for an advertising, or if a new place is going to open up. Some really liked the idea of a mural, a art piece in the city. Without any commercial intention.

Thanks so much to Ricky for making this happening!! Pro Helvetia for the material support and african acces for the craines and the super technical support. These were great days! Bigup to Jonx for the nice pictures!
